Last night (November 24), Taylor Swift received the Artist of the Decade trophy at the American Music Awards, and she performed a medley of some of her biggest hits to commemorate the occasion.

After an introduction from Carole King, Swift opened with "The Man" from Lover. She then delved into her back catalogue with "Love Story," "I Knew You Were Trouble," "Blank Space" and "Shake It Off" — the latter featuring surprise appearances by Halsey and Camila Cabello.

The set closed with a performance of "Lover," which served as a backdrop to a performance by ballet superstars Misty Copeland and Craig Hall.

It was a performance that almost didn't happen thanks to Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta, but it seemed like they worked something out in the end.

Watch clips of the performance, as well as Swift's acceptance speech, below.

In addition to the retrospective award, Swift also took home five other trophies, surpassing the record for most AMA wins that was previously held by Michael Jackson.
