Velvet Crush

Velvet Crush walks and talks like a Matthew Sweet album without the songs, and that of course means it’s no Matthew Sweet album. Crush drummer Ric Menck has played on the bulk of Sweet’s tracks throughout his career, and the favour has been returned with Sweet behind the boards for many of Velvet Crush’s efforts, but there’s only so much that can be done with the sub par material found on Free Expression.
