Vashti Bunyan Returns with First New Album in Nearly a Decade

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 20, 2014

Close to 45 years after making her debut, UK folk figure Vashti Bunyan has announced she will be issuing her third full-length recording later this year. Titled Heartleap, the record is due in North America on October 7 via DiCristina and a day earlier overseas through FatCat.

Though not all of the details have been delivered just yet, a press release [via Pitchfork] notes that Heartleap was written and produced by Bunyan, with recording sessions taking place at her home studio, as well as other facilities in England, Scotland and the U.S.

Though not as grand a gap as that between 1970's Just Another Diamond Day and her 2005 comeback album Lookaftering, Heartleap is still the singer-songwriter's first new album in nine years. A rarities set titled Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind had, however, arrived in 2007.

While tracklisting info for the set is pending, Bunyan is set to play a few dates in the UK this fall. You'll find her upcoming show schedule down below.

10/08 London, England - St. Pancras Church
