Decades on from "the day the earth was turned into a cemetery" by highly evolved ants in sci-fi flick Phase IV, Waxwork Records is releasing the hive mind-influenced soundtrack to us surviving drones. It arrives March 17, but you can sample the score online ahead of time.
As previously reported, this marks the first time the score by Brian Gascoigne, Desmond Briscoe, David Vorhaus and Stomu Yamashta to the 1974 flick has been commercially available. As you'll discover in the player down below, the various "phases" featured on the set filter in sinister synth work, some spooky strings, squiggling horns, and various mechanized stretches of atmospheric, ambient tones.
If you want to put the physical edition into your pincers, you'll find ordering info over here.
Forthcoming entries by the label include scores to Nightbreed, C.H.U.D. and Friday the 13th Part 2.
