U2 Getting HBO Tour Doc and Concert Film

U2's current "iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE" tour has already been captured by a fan-made documentary. Soon, the trip will be committed to film once again, this time with both a behind-the-scenes tour documentary and a concert film.

The behind-the-scenes doc will arrive first. Directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, It Might Get Loud, Waiting for 'Superman'), it will focus on how "iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE" came together and will include interviews with Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., plus many members of their team. It will also explore Bono's serious bike accident from last year (but will it cover the time the Edge fell off the stage?). This doc will premiere on November 7 on HBO.

The week after that, HBO will air the band's November 14 concert. It will be shot at Paris, France's Bercy Arena, and will be screened the very same day. That's the second-to-last show of the tour.

"U2 continues to take risks, which has made them one of the most consistently exciting forces in rock'n'roll," HBO exec Michael Lombardo said in a statement. "The one-two combination of this documentary special, followed by the concert, will provide viewers with the ultimate look at this remarkable band behind the scenes and on the stage."

Meanwhile, U2's tour is still ongoing. See the upcoming international schedule here.
