Ty Segall has a new solo album on the way next month, but that impending release isn't stopping him from announced the debut long-player from his side-project FUZZ. The self-titled album will be out on October 1 through In the Red, and it will be supported by an extensive fall tour.
The band features Segall on drums and vocals, along with guitarist Charlie Moothart and bassist Roland Cosio. A press release makes comparisons to Blue Cheer, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Black Sabbath, and describes the band like this: "Ferocious, with a sludgy, psyched-out, proto-metal sound steeped in shredding fuzztone guitar, FUZZ more than lives up to its name."
