Tsunami Bomb

The Definitive Act

BY Liz WorthPublished Dec 1, 2004

Music fans who prefer independent or underground acts, and who stay as far away from the mainstream as possible, might be wary of this record. It has a really polished, clean sound like it’s been thoroughly prepped for regular radio play and music video rotation. Though the members of Tsunami Bomb like to fashion themselves as a dark punk outfit with their angst-ridden songs about non-conformity and love gone awry, they just end up coming across as juvenile. This is the kind of album Avril Lavigne fans would likely latch onto with the pretty, pop-oriented female vocals spread over tight, catchy arrangements. It’s also virtually harmless and would be unlikely to piss anyone’s parents off.
