Vancouver band Tough Age have announced their fifth album. Waiting Here is out June 16 worldwide through Bobo Integral and in Canada via We Are Time.
The group have shared the single "Time & Again." While past albums have explored garage rock and spiky-post-punk, this one is a jangle pop rock number, its tuneful blur evoking Murmur-era R.E.M.
This LP is the band's first since their return to their original hometown of Vancouver, following a stint in Toronto. Original bassist Lauren Smith has rejoined the lineup, while longtime member Penny Clark mostly sits this one out (although she plays bass on closer "Waiting Here"). It was produced by singer-guitarist Jarrett Evan Samson along with Peter Woodford, with mastering by Jay Arner.
