Tory Lanez has been given an additional felony charge concerning Megan Thee Stallion's shooting case, bringing the total to three.

The Brampton-born rapper was charged on Monday (December 5) with discharging a firearm "in a grossly negligent manner which could result in injury or death to a person," Pitchfork and Rolling Stone report. The new charge reportedly carries a possible six-year prison sentence and could qualify him for deportation from the US.

The rapper born Daystar Peterson had previously pleaded not guilty to two charges in the case: assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. All three charges together carry a possible 22-year-plus prison sentence.

Lanez had been on house arrest since October 26, and was released as jury selection began yesterday. The trial's opening statements are scheduled to begin on December 12.
