Though the project existed for just under two years, Toronto-based trio Dollarama caught the attention of major Canadian festivals, national publications and even the retailer itself with their mandate to perform live only using instruments and objects found at the dollar store. Now, their music is now set to be immortalized on wax this month with a new 10-inch record.
Seeing release through former member Eric Warner's We Are Busy Bodies, Dollarama Revisited collects four of six songs originally recorded in 2006 for a CD entitled Where's the Music?. The release is limited to only 20 copies on clear lathe-cut vinyl, and can be purchased through the label's webstore.
Dollarama Revisited is set to arrive January 26. Scroll past the record's tracklisting to take a listen to the percussion-heavy "Swollen Gumbs" in the player below.
Dollarama Revisited:
1. Swollen Gumbs
2. Night Terrors
3. Yalp Yalp Yalp
4. Play Play Play
