Mo-G Assaulted over OVO Ghostwriting Accusations

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Apr 1, 2016

Toronto rapper Mo-G recently added more fuel to the OVO ghostwriting fire by calling out Drake and his manager Oliver El-Khatib on Instagram over allegedly unpaid contributions to the Canadian hip-hop giant's hotly anticipated LP Views from the 6. Despite deleting the videos from his account, a new post reveals that the Halal Gang MC was physically assaulted as a result of his actions.

Mo-G posted a photo of his face on Instagram with the caption "when you speak from your heart this is what happens..." along with hashtags "#dirtysociety" and "#dirtyindustry." In the series of now-deleted clips from prior weeks, he claimed he was never fairly compensated or credited for his work with the OVO crew.

"Have you ever ever heard in the history of hip-hop a man that gives away his creativity and helps make Billboard hits, but doesn't get paid a dollar or get one credit for it and is here stuck in the 'hood," he said. "That doesn't make sense."

He continued: "Oliver told me the whole OVO team thinks I deserve compensation for everything Drake took from me, and all the man offers me is $500. $500 can't even pay mama's rent. I thought we was family at OVO but these n***** never paid me a dollar."

In another deleted post from last weekend, Mo-G also teased the Drake cover of Nico's "These Days" that recently surfaced, as well as another taunt from five days ago that you can see below.
