After spending the past three years on air as 93.5 The Move, Toronto's CFXJ-FM has relaunched itself under its previous banner of FLOW 93-5.
The move returns the station to the branding and programming it had debuted with as one of Canada's first urban contemporary stations in 2001. The station had rebranded as The Move in 2016, and operated in a rhythmic contemporary format.
Now, FLOW 93-5 bills itself as "Canada's first and only hip-hop radio station," ready to stay "in touch with the community and reflected its interests." Reaction to the rebrand on social media has been largely positive, as you can see below.
"There has never been a better time to welcome back FLOW 93-5. Extensive research has told us that Toronto understands FLOW 93-5 means hip-hop, it means community and that it evokes excitement" program director Josie Fenech explained in a statement. "Our core artists are not only hip-hop's biggest stars, they are global celebrities breaking sales records and dominating the charts; Drake, the Weeknd, Cardi B, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone are part of our musical foundation"
To support the city's wealth of local talent, FLOW 93-5 will offer up an hour of programming for "The Made in Toronto Takeover," which will feature "what's hot, what's on the come-up, and what's movin' next" from area artists five days a week (Sunday through Thursday).

So happy and excited for the return of Flow 93.5. So many memories as a youth while listening to this station for years. My cousin's best friend used to work for Flow in their early years.
