Toronto-based electronic duo LAL will release their sixth album Dark Beings next month, and they've previewed the forthcoming record with a video for "Losing Myself."
"The video for 'Losing Myself' is about an intergalactic voyager who arrives on an unknown planet," the band's Rosina Kazi tells Exclaim! "They must take a trip across an empty world, searching for a fix of synthetic pleasure. A memory haunts the voyager, and keeps them from attaining the main goal on this planet, to find bliss, and then return home."
She continues, "The song is about hope, resilience, diasporic travels and harm reduction, shedding a positive light on those of us who suffer from addiction and issues around mental health and trauma. "
Watch that important message manifest itself as a space quest in the video for "Losing Myself" down below.
Dark Beings is due out May 17 via Coax Records.
