Tool Promise 2016 Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 13, 2015

When Tool got together for a show last month, frontman James Maynard Keenan didn't seem particularly excited about it, and he even went so far as to say that his bandmates "had to con me into it." Well, evidently they've conned him into it again, since the proggy metal vets have announced plans to tour in early 2016.

In a Facebook message posted late last night (November 12), the band wrote about having a vision of the future in a scrying mirror. Although the tone of the post was fairly tongue in cheek, they didn't seem to be joking when they promised that there would be "FUTURE TOOL U.S.A. TOUR DATES in the month of JANUARY, 2016."

The message is as follows:

TOOL TOUR VISIONSSOMETHING WICKED THIS... YOUR WAY COMES!For those of you who only like NEWS about TOOL, here's...

Of course, it's not terribly encouraging that the band specify that they are touring in the "U.S.A.," since that would suggest they won't be coming to Canada. Let's hope, then, that they expand their plans to encompass more of North America. Stay tuned for the tour details to be confirmed before long.

Meanwhile, Tool still haven't released a new album since 2006's 10,000 Days thanks to being wrapped up in a lawsuit.
