Tomas Jirku

Variants

BY Nick HolmesPublished Dec 1, 2000

Perhaps a bit propulsive for a pure couch sitting record, Jirku has fused Pole-like 21st century dub to Dolden-esque audio art. A lot of this sounds less laboured than Pole, which makes it less obviously "pop" music, but also less hermetic. Rhythmically confident and adventurous, repetition here allows the sounds time to resolve.
