Gangsta Boo, the rapper known for her trailblazing work with Three 6 Mafia, has died. She was 43.

Various sources report the artist's death, although the cause of her passing has not been confirmed.

Born Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, Gangsta Boo hailed from Memphis, TN, and was a key figure in the rise of Southern hip-hop. In addition to being an early member of Three 6 Mafia and appearing on the group's first few albums, she released various solo albums and mixtapes.

In recent years, she guested on two Run the Jewels songs: 2014's "Love Again (Akinyele Back)" and 2020's "Walking in the Snow." She also appeared on tracks by clipping., Junglepussy, Yelawolf and Blood Orange.
