The Zombies Take 'Odessey and Oracle' on 50th Anniversary Tour

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 17, 2016

British Invasion rockers the Zombies had toured North America in support of 2011's Breathe Out, Breathe In, but longtime fans will get to see some of the band's classic catalogue celebrated on an upcoming string of dates.

To mark the 50th anniversary of 1968's beloved album Odessey and Oracle, the Zombies will be hitting the road and playing said record from start to finish for live audiences, with the tour coming under the banner of the "Odessey and Oracle 50th Anniversary Finale Tour."

"In June 1967 five young men walked in to Abbey Road Studios #3. They set out to make an album their own way, but never expected the result would loom so large in their lives," a press release explains. "The album lead to the break-up of the original lineup, produced an unexpected worldwide hit single a year later, and became a musical touchstone for generations to come. 50 years later, Odessey and Oracle will bring the four surviving members back together on stage to perform the album in its entirety for the final time."

Original players Chris White and High Grundy will join the group's current touring lineup of Colin Blunstone, Rod Argent, Jim Rodford, Steve Rodford and Tom Toomey for the shows, which get underway on March 17 in Glenside, PA. Canadian fans can catch shows in Montreal on April 1, Toronto on April 2, Winnipeg on April 18 and Vancouver on April 21.
