The Royal Oui released their self-titled debut LP back in 2013, and they're readying a follow-up full-length called This Is Someday for release next month. Ahead of the sophomore album's arrival, though, Exclaim! is giving you the first look at the band's brand new "All About You" video.
Although the synth-driven song about falling victim to one's own narcissistic tendencies is purely the handiwork of married bandmates Adrienne Pierce and Ari Shrine, they made a conscious decision to enlist some different faces for the track's accompanying visuals.
"We really didn't want the 'All About You' video to be all about us," they tell Exclaim! "So we enlisted the help of our friend, Canadian director Allison Beda, and the Vancouver dance troupe led by Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg to create this funny, human, vulnerable video about how we get along with ourselves and other people."
The clip was filmed in public spaces around Vancouver, which serve as a backdrop to a winning blend of performance art, avant-garde choreography and vibrant danceable pop music.
