The Once Are 'Out Here' on First New Album in Six Years, Canadian Tour

They'll perform the new material across Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec this spring

Newfoundland folk trio the Once have announced the release of their first studio album in six years, led by new single "Oh You" and a Canadian tour announcement.

Out Here is due February 16. Marking their fifth studio release, it follows 2018's Time Enough.

"Sometimes music takes a while to flow. If you don't panic and instead surround yourself with people who love you that you can trust, magic can happen," the band explained in a statement, continuing:

This album we are announcing right NOW is full of easy decisions. Anytime anyone felt stressed, we took a walk, a nap, or made a meal together. We let it all come easy. No stress. No ego. Just love and care. No space for negativity. Soon negativity gave up and went elsewhere. It was amazing. We have found the love of the process. We really look forward to sharing this music with you.

The first taste of the record comes in the form of swaying, lullabic new single "Oh You," which you can listen to below.

The Once will take their new material on the road in the springtime, playing shows across Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec, starting on March 21 in Ottawa and running until May 12 in Morrisburg. Tickets are on sale now — find the full tour schedule below.
