The Luyas Return with 'Says You' EP, Premiere "Engineers"

It's been four long years since Montreal's the Luyas released their Animator album, but the avant-pop band are finally making their return this fall with a new EP. Titled Says You, the mini-collection comes out September 16 via Paper Bag Records.

Produced by Jace Lasek of Besnard Lakes, Says You marks the first new material from the retro-futurists since 2012, and it includes five songs that are "playful, and diverse," according to the press release. Its lyrics are said to be "funny and smart, at times even touching," while the soundscapes are apparently filled with horns and multi-layered rhythms.

The band are teasing the EP with a stream of its opener, "Engineers." Affixed with twitchy electronics, and Jesse Stein's half-whispered musings on language, the absence of god and more, you can hear the piece below, courtesy of Fader. That would be the album cover up above.

Says You:

1. Engineers
2. Bucky's (2Hours) Late
3. Says You
4. God Is Pink
5. If It Exists
