While Kathleen Hanna recently offered up a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark," 2016 also sees the punk icon delivering new music with the Julie Ruin. The band's Hit Reset collection drops in early July, and it's now been confirmed that they'll be heading out on tour to support the set.
As previously reported, the Julie Ruin release Hit Reset July 8 through new label home Hardly Art, and Hanna and co. hit the road about a week later, with the first gig of the trip taking place July 14 in Chicago. Shortly thereafter, they make it up north to Toronto and Montreal.
The band's Hit Reset tour is being spread out in a few chunks. After week-long North American stretches in July and August, they'll kick off a leg of October dates at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre. They'll also head to Europe in November.
You'll find the full tour schedule down below.
Along with the tour announcement, the band have shared the new album track "I'm Done." You can check it out for yourself below the dates.
As previously reported, Hit Reset is the Julie Ruin's follow-up to 2013's Run Fast. The group started working on the album in 2014, and it's said to be "dancier in spots and moodier in others." Hanna's lyrics are also said to be more personal.
"I was way more honest lyrically on this record because we'd been on the road together and I felt more confident taking risks in front of my bandmates," she had previously said in a statement, adding, "I've written about my personal bouts with illness, abuse, sexism and how hard it is for me to walk away from people even when they are toxic Tasmanian Devils before, but not in this way."
