'In Spades' (album stream)

BY Brock ThiessenPublished May 5, 2017

After delivering a series of teaser tracks and just recently an entire tour, the Afghan Whigs have released their In Spades.

The album marks the alt-rock vets' fist since 2014's Do to the Beast and is said to find the group grappling with "dark metaphors" and "spectral imagery."

It features frontman Greg Dulli joined by Dave Rosser (guitar), Jon Skibic (guitar), Patrick Keeler (drums), Rick Nelson (multi-instrumentalist) and co-founder John Curley (bass), making for what's called their first "full-blown band" effort since 1996's Black Love. The album was all recorded the LP at Nelson's Marigny Sound studio in New Orleans.

Now, hear it all for yourself below.

In Spades is out now through Sub Pop. Read through the band's newly announced North American tour dates here.
