Tanya Tagaq, Danny Brown and Japandroids Lead This Week's Can't Miss Concerts

Whether or not you have plans to stuff yourself silly with turkey this Thanksgiving, you can still be thankful for the wealth of concerts coming to Canada from October 6 to 12. A wide range of Canadian talent return home this weekend, while festival season winds down with Edmonton's Up + Downtown Music and Arts Festival.

Basia Bulat
 
Folk-pop chanteuse Basia Bulat is still on the road after an impressive summer touring schedule. This week, Bulat will trek through Western Canada to perform tracks from her fourth album, Good Advice, which came out to critical acclaim earlier this year.

Danny Brown
 
Danny Brown surprised fans when he dropped his album Atrocity Exhibition three days prior to its scheduled release at the end of September. The unconventional rapper unveiled a handful of tracks beforehand, but fans in Vancouver can expect to get a complete taste of the new album when he stops by on October 7.

Drake
 
It's been a banner year for Toronto golden boy Drake, who released his highly anticipated album, Views, as well as a short film, Please Forgive Me; confirmed his collaboration with Kanye West; and won a VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video. After a stop in Montreal, the 6 God is coming home for a show at the Air Canada Centre.

Japandroids

Royal Canoe

The fourth annual Up + Downtown Music Festival returns to celebrate independent music and arts at 16 venues in downtown Edmonton this weekend. The Sadies, Tokyo Police Club, Expire and White Lung are just a handful of the 60-plus performers taking the stage.
