Tallman

Mechanism

Tallman is a Toronto-based band that has been in the trenches for a long time. They have toured throughout Canada several times and have played thousands of shows in and around their hometown. Apparently their hard work has had a pay off as they managed to get the attention of producer Silvia Massy Shivy (Tool, Deftones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers), who worked with the band on their latest release Mechanism. Excellently recorded, J Toner’s vocals sit, pressure filled, in the depths of his throat. When listening to the disc, it is easy to visualise a thick vein in his neck that pulsates when he sings. Drummer Rick Welbanks easily takes on the task of being the backbone on each song on Mechanism. The band is tighter than they ever have been and this disc is a collection of the best music they have created as a unit. This record should catapult Tallman out of the Toronto independent music scene and onto the international stage once and for all. If there is any justice in the world, this record will get Tallman the major record deal they deserve (if they want it), spots on the biggest summer tours and all the alt-rock radio attention possible.
