Though Nicole Turley has had countless artists come in and out of her Swahili Blonde project over the years, the musician mostly goes it alone on her upcoming EP, Deities in Decline. Ahead of the record's July 21 release date through Turley's own Neurotic Yell Records, she's blessing us with a preview of its "Discover Aurora."
The track is a mystic dance number spiraling together a dust-storm of vintage drum machine beats, tremolo-laden tones, fuzz bass and hypnotic vocal melodies. Additional string sounds are supplied by Laena Geronimo (Feels, The Like, Raw Geronimo).
A press release explains that the tune is dedicated to Turley's goddaughter, Aurora, with hopes that the tune will help her "find her tribe of people, be fearless, and have the courage to be herself."
Via the player down below, you can stream the single ahead of the EP's July release. A new full-length from Swahili Blonde is expected to land later in the year.
