Pacific Northwest crushers Sumac haven't quite offered up all the details on their forthcoming sophomore LP, their first for new label home Thrill Jockey, but the band have offered up a powerful taste of what's to come in an album trailer.
"There's a level of discomfort that comes from pushing yourself, and not knowing what's going to happen," a voiceover narrates ahead of footage of the band tracking a staccato stomp-out of epic proportions.
The quick clip finds the words "what one becomes" flash across the screen, but it's unclear at present if this is the album title. What's been confirmed is that the record arrives this June. More info is expected to be revealed this coming Monday (March 21).
As previously reported, the group's Aaron Turner (Mamiffer/Old Man Gloom), Nick Yacyshyn (Baptists) and Brian Cook (Botch, Russian Circles) recorded this latest effort at Phil Elverum's Unknown studio in Anacortes, WA, with Kurt Ballou handling production duties.
