Edmonton-based darkwave duo STRVNGERS (pronounced Strangers) released their self-titled LP last week, featuring 12 tracks thematically influenced by sexuality and death. To show you how deep those influences run in their art, Exclaim! is giving you a first look at the duo's eerie new video for album cut "Shape Shifter."
The video shows two masked figures watching a dancer move suggestively across the floor in front of a mass of candles, as if she were partaking in some sort of ritual. Performance footage is overlaid with her moves intermittently until a strobe light flickers to life, the dancer's movements becoming more exaggerated as the musical blend of breakbeat and metal reaches a climactic peak.
