The Streets' Mike Skinner To Give Away Music Via Twitter

As Twitter keeps gaining more and more followers, it appears that musicians are not only joining in but also trying to discover new ways of interacting with their audience. We previously reported that K'naan is tweeting for lyrics in a bid to collaborate with fans. Well, it appears the Streets' Mike Skinner has gone a step further, tweeting that he plans to use the micro-blogging site to release new music, free of charge.

On his Twitter page yesterday (April 13), Skinner tweeted, "I am going to tweet three new songs this week. I can't be bothered with all this trying to sell you music. It wastes valuable time." He then followed it up, adding he believes he's "gonna be in so much trouble" and "I think i regret saying I'd post three new songs." So, we'll see just how far he gets.

As far as his plan goes, he says he feels "day one will be easy. I've got one nearly done. Day two easy. Day three is looking tricky. Might have to post a totally rubbish one."

Judging by his last couple of albums, I think we can get a sense of what day three will sound like.
