After recently treating their iconic Purple album to an anniversary reissue, Stone Temple Pilots have now announced their first-ever acoustic album alongside a North American tour.
The band will deliver new album Perdida on February 7 through Rhino/Warner. Ten tracks in length, the album was primarily recorded at drummer Eric Kretz's Bomb Shelter studio in early 2019.
In a statement, guitarist Dean DeLeo noted that the album's title (Spanish for "loss") indicates its sombre mood. "You have to live it to write it," he said, "and this record is a reflection of where we've been recently."
A first single arrives today in album opener "Fare Thee Well," which you can hear in the player below.
Stone Temple Pilots will take the album on tour in February next year, kicking off their run with a February 5 date at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom.
From there, the one other Canadian date will bring them to Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on February 27. Take a look at the band's itinerary below.
Stone Temple Pilots delivered a self-titled album — their first with vocalist Jeff Gutt — in 2018.
