Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard is leading up to the June 25 release of his solo album Moonlander by rolling out a song a week. This week, it's the title track.
"Moonlander" mixes noisy guitar chords with outer space-themed lyrics, soul harmonies, and a melody that strongly evokes Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová's "Falling Slowly." The song's accompanying art by Gossard and his five-year-old daughter is above.
Gossard said in a statement, "It's a play on the word honeymoon…it's a song about love and its astronomical odds…the odds of landing on the moon are right up there with finding love, and yet, both happen."
