Having already locked a role down in upcoming horror film Happy Birthday, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is already planning his next move on the silver screen, calling on James Gunn to let him appear in a future Guardians of the Galaxy film.

In an interview with People earlier this month, Tyler expressed interest in being a part of the Marvel film franchise, saying "I would do anything to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – are you listening James Gunn?"

Gunn heard him loud and clear, and responded to Tyler's comments at the Toronto International Film Festival.

"Yes, I did hear that Steven Tyler wants to be in Guardians of the Galaxy," Gunn said during a Facebook Q&A. "He gave me a shout-out the other day in an interview. He said, 'James Gunn are you listening?' The answer is: Steven, yes I am listening. And I'm a big fan of Steven Tyler's. I would have the pleasure of directing his daughter Liv in a movie [2010's Super] in which she was fantastic, and I met him for a few seconds at a screening of that movie. He's a cool guy. And, of course I would love to work with Steven Tyler sometime."

In furthering those comments, Gunn also expressed interest in working with Tyler on Twitter. As previously reported, Aerosmith are set to call it a career with a farewell tour next year.
