Back in August, Halifax Celt-punk combo the Stanfields announced their upcoming sophomore set, Death & Taxes. At the time, the hard-partying unit promised a tour schedule behind the LP would arrive in September. One week into the month, we now have the details on those dates.
The band have a handful of previously booked shows in Nova Scotia and BC to get through in September, but the tour proper kicks off a couple of weeks after Death & Taxes arrives September 18 via GroundSwell Music/Warner Music Canada.
An October run heads from Ottawa out to Vancouver Island stops in Victoria and Nanaimo. A November string of dates, meanwhile, will focus on Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes.
You can see the details down below. Joining the band for the bulk of the trip will be fellow Haligonian rockers Gloryhound.
As previously reported, Death & Taxes is primed to further explore the band's affinity for punk-meets-folk arrangements. Lyrically, it will deal with the "unspoken side of Maritime living and themes of poverty, war, despair, greed and capitalism."
The ten-track set was co-produced by the band and Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica).
