As August fades into the rearview, we're here to help you welcome September with a sweet list of shows to make your Labour Day weekend one to remember. In this week's edition of Can't Miss Concerts, from August 31 to September 6, we've got a diverse mix of shows from veteran punk bands, emerging indie rock artists, stadium-filling pop stars and a bunch more to satisfy your live music needs.

Against Me!
 
Punk rock vets Against Me! are still hard at work promoting last year's phenomenal Shape Shift with Me. The band are kicking off an extensive tour across North America, and they're bringing along Los Angeles rockers Bleached and Hamilton punks the Dirty Nil for the ride. Western Canadians get four chances to see this lineup this week, with stops in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Festival de Musique Émergente
 
After 15 successful years, Quebec's Festival de Musique Émergente is still going strong on their mission to bring top-notch underground musicians from a wide spectrum of genres to beautiful, remote Rouyn-Noranda, QC. This year will see sets by bands like Duchess Says, A Tribe Called Red, Andy Shauf, Marduk and more across the festival's four days.

HAIM
 
Sister trio HAIM have been creating a substantial amount of buzz for themselves recently, performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, making a hilarious appearance on Funny or Die and, of course, releasing the critically acclaimed Something to Tell You. Fans out West can see the band perform this week, when they make a stop at Vancouver's Malkin Bowl before continuing on their trek.

Halifax Urban Folk Festival
 
The eighth annual Halifax Urban Folk Festival continues its weeklong takeover of Nova Scotia's capital this week, bringing fantastic folk artists from all across the world to multiple venues around the city. This year's edition boasts artists such as Oh Susanna, the Old Salts, Skydiggers, Beauts and more.

Lady Gaga

Mile Ex End Musique Montreal is set to debut this Labour Day weekend, bringing a stellar lineup of musicians to perform under the Van Horne overpass. The festival has gathered a great lineup for its first edition, with performances from the likes of City and Colour, Partner, Patrick Watson, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and more.

Doom metal powerhouses Pallbearer dropped one of our most anticipated albums of 2017 at the beginning of the year, with their devastatingly heavy record Heartless. The gloomy metal masters have been on a lengthy North American tour to support the record, which will see the band making their way to Ottawa, Quebec City and Montreal this week, with Kayo Dot opening each night.

Sheer Mag
 
Garage rockers Sheer Mag have been basking in the spotlight ever since releasing their trilogy of EPs, but their status as one of the best up-and-coming rock bands was further solidified with their debut full-length record, Need to Feel Your Love. Fans in Toronto have a chance to see the band's rambunctious live show this week when they make a stop at the Horseshoe Tavern.

Seasoned indie rockers Spoon announced an enormous run of shows across Europe and North America following the release of their ninth album, Hot Thoughts, and if their recent stop in Toronto is anything to go by, fans are in for an incredible show. This week, Western Canadians can see the band perform in Calgary, followed by a show in Vancouver a few days later.

The rapper's in the midst of a lengthy North American tour backed by the gospel sounds of the Trap Choir, which fans in Toronto will get the opportunity to see this week.
