Speedy Ortiz are back with a brand new LP. Titled Twerp Verse, it's set to land on April 27 via Carpark.
The record marks the band's full-length follow-up to 2015's Foil Deer, though they've since released an EP dubbed Foiled Again and frontwoman Sadie Dupuis released her debut solo album Slugger under the moniker Sad13.
Twerp Verse began as a set of "lovey dovey" personal songs, but after the U.S. election in that fall of 2016, Dupuis decided to scrap it and start over.
"Social politics and protest have been a part of our music from day one, and I didn't want to stop doing that on this album," she said in a statement.
The result is an album that's "urgent, taught, and pointedly witty."
