Some Guy in a Marshmello Mask Tricked a Singapore Nightclub into Letting Him DJ

It isn't always easy to tell who might be behind the mask when it comes to costumed EDM performers. A Singapore nightclub figured this out the hard way this past weekend when it let a fan dressed as Marshmello hop behind the decks thinking he was the real deal.

On Saturday night (September 10), popular club Zouk let the imposter into the building, where he posed for photos with fans and reportedly spun a few tunes. The club's own resident DJ, Jade Rasif, called the club out on a "lack of integrity" in a now-deleted post that you can find below.

"Super wack that you guys hired an imposter to perform as marshmello," the real DJ tweeted. The club has since claimed that the imposter was not a hired actor in a Facebook post. "We would like to take the opportunity to clarify that he was not hired by Zouk Singapore as a mascot or to DJ and we apologize for any confusion caused," they wrote Tuesday (September 13). "We have always encouraged our guests to be creative and fun-loving, and it was never our intention to mislead guests at the club or be disrespectful."

Thanks to FACT for the tip.
