Through his work as one half of experimental shapeshifters Matmos and under the solo moniker the Soft Pink Truth, Drew Daniel has crafted a fruitful career under thematic parameters.

The Baltimore musician has crafted full albums based on black metal or the sounds of washing machine, but Shall We Go on Sinning So That Grace May Increase? stands as Daniel's first full-length written around a mood rather than a tangible idea. Conceived as a response to the rise of racism across the globe, Daniel fashioned a singular 43-minute piece to run across nine separate tracks, each named subsequentially for a word (or two) found in the album's bible-quoting title.

Using echoed piano, tempered disco beats, waves of synth and wordless, chopped-up vocals (courtesy of Angel Deradoorian and Jana Hunter), Daniel crafts a tapestry of tense sounds and sentiments. Shall We Go on Sinning So That Grace May Increase? is an journey of an album for The Soft Pink Truth, as emotional as it is adventurous.
