At this point, it probably goes without saying that Hall & Oates aren't exactly on the best of terms. Daryl Hall took out a restraining order against John Oates last November after being "blindsided" by his music and business partner's decision to sell his share in Whole Oates Enterprises, LLP. Hall referred to their "divorce" as "the ultimate partnership betrayal," but he's apparently found solace in joining forces with another musician — Elvis Costello (and his band, the Imposters) — for a co-headlining North American tour. It includes a lone Canadian gig in Toronto this summer.
“It’s fantastic to be able to rekindle a musical relationship," Hall said of touring with Costello. "Get ready for lots of great music.”
Costello added, “We are looking forward to kicking off the show in style in the certainty that Daryl will deliver a slam-bang finish.”
The stint on the road kicks off on June 2 in Troutdale, OR. Their only venture into Canada comes about halfway through the tour, when they'll cross the border to perform at Toronto's Budweiser Stage on July 4 with support from Charlie Sexton. Hall and Costello & the Imposters will wrap things up back in the US, with the run currently slated to end on July 25 in Vienna, VA.
Tickets go on sale to the general public next Friday (March 15) at 10 a.m. local time, following presales beginning Monday (March 11). Find the full tour itinerary below.
