Small Brown Bike Reunite for Live Shows

BY Keith CarmanPublished Sep 9, 2009

Despite calling it a day back in 2004, Marshsall, Michigan outfit Small Brown Bike never ceased to be an influence on the world of punk rock and post-hardcore.

Releasing three full-length albums and a variety of EPs and singles in their eight-year span, Small Brown Bike managed to reshape the genre initially carved out by the likes of Hot Water Music and Dillinger Four. In other words, on a much smaller level, they've become one of those cult bands everyone's seen or wishes they had.

However, you'll all get your chance now. That one-off gig they played back in 2007 as a benefit for a friend suffering from leukemia - coupled with missing the whole band life thing in general - has incited the outfit to reform and perform more shows in the future. And yes, we know that former Small Brown Bike members went on to form other bands, but they've had nowhere near the impact of this configuration.

Sadly, confirmation of the reunion was only issued via a Tweet so few other details are available at present. They have announced a few shows, however, and more dates are expected.

Here are those confirmed so far:

10/10 Kalamazoo, MI - State Theatre

12/4 Chicago, IL - Beat Kitchen
12/5 Lansing, MI - Mac's Bar
