Sloan Gear Up for Deluxe 'Twice Removed' Reissue with West Coast Dates

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 25, 2012

Following Sloan's recent issuing of a live bootleg recorded at a 1999 Australian gig, the Toronto-based pop troupe will hit up the West Coast for a few dates this fall.

While the Australia 1999 set focused on the outfit's then-current Behind the Bridges material, at least one of the three newly announced BC dates will have the band casting their gaze even further back in time to celebrate their iconic 1994 set Twice Removed.

A press release confirms that Sloan's September 14 performance at the Commodore Ballroom will have the quartet playing the album in full before playing a cross-section of other hits. The show will apparently coincide with a three-LP reissue of the album that will be released sometime in September.

On top of the 12 originals, featuring classics like "Coax Me," "I Hate My Generation" and "People of the Sky," the deluxe reissue is said to contain two bonus discs of demos and previously unreleased material. Unfortunately, neither a tracklist nor a proper release date has been delivered just yet.

In the meantime, you can check out the group's summer schedule, including a September 15 stop at Victoria's Rifflandia Festival, down below. More dates in support of the re-release are expected sometime in the future as well.

Tour dates:

7/12 Cornwall, ON - Kinsmen Lift Off *
7/21 Niagra Falls, NY - Hard Rock at the Falls Summer Series
8/4 Port Colborne, ON - Canal Days
9/8 Oliver, BC - Tinhorn Creek Concert Series
9/14 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
9/15 Victoria, BC - Rifflandia
