Sleigh Bells Sign with M.I.A.'s Imprint for Debut Album, Plot North American Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Mar 16, 2010

In the second half of 2009, Sleigh Bells tore up the Internet with their unspeakably loud punk-meets-electro attack. Though they only had some raw demo tracks to their name, the Brooklyn-based duo (which includes former Poison the Well guitarist Derek Miller and singer Alexis Krauss) quickly drew the hype of the world with their addictive and unique sound. Now, Sleigh Bells have announced they've found a home for their debut album: M.I.A.'s N.E.E.T. record label.

The album is called Treats, and while little is known about a tracklisting, it will most likely include all of their beloved demos. We also know Treats is expected to drop on May 11.

Sleigh Bells already have a working relationship with M.I.A., as they reportedly made some contributions to her upcoming third album. Sleigh Bells will also be supporting Major Lazer and Yeasayer on separate tours this spring. Those shows will include Canadian stops in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
