Back in February, Drake hinted in an Instagram post that he had signed to UK grime label Boy Better Know, run by his last new friend Skepta. Now, the latter has clarified the details of the state of the deal.
While many questioned how Drake could make such a move en lieu of his contractual obligations to Young Money, the grime MC insisted the partnership will happen in a new interview with Time Out.
"We're putting together an official worldwide BBK label, but we haven't talked about how it'll work yet," Skepta revealed to the publication. "It'll be separate to his existing contracts. Trust me, I am not gonna sue Lil Wayne."
The interview also revealed how the two first met, with Drake throwing a party at his Miami mansion where Skepta was staying. Requesting his presence, Drake sent a friend to go wake the Boy Better Know founder up, much to his initial displeasure.
Drake's latest LP VIEWS arrived on April 29, while Skepta's Konnichiwa landed on May 6.
