Sigur Rós Announce More North American Dates, Play Toronto

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 12, 2012

Montreal-based music fans were no doubt elated to learn that Icelandic post-rock faves Sigur Rós are headed to the city's Osheaga festival this coming August, but a recently announced tour schedule from the troupe reveals that Ontarians will get a dose of the band a day earlier: Sigur Rós play Toronto August 1.

Altogether, the act will play eight shows on the continent, starting the trip off July 30 at Philadelphia's Skyline Stage. They'll make their way into Canada August 1 to play Toronto's outdoor venue Echo Beach, and head east to Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau the following day.

While Sigur Rós cap the trip with a West Coast spree from Washington to California, it seems they'll be skipping the typical Vancouver date this time around. You can check the rest of the schedule down below.

As previously reported, Sigur Rós will deliver their next LP Valtari on May 29 through EMI/XL.
