Quirky Canadian crooner Sean Nicholas Savage will release his album Other Death this Friday (September 18) on Arbutus Records, and ahead of its in-store arrival, Exclaim! has the premiere of the full stream.
The title of Other Death is a nod to Savage's 2013 album Other Life. It was recorded with Agor of Blue Hawaii in Santa Monica, CA.
Opener "Death" is a quiet instrumental piano composition. After that, the record shifts into more familiar territory for the songwriter, with slippery, funk-tinged rhythms anchoring Savage's dreamy keys and gasping, breathy singing. The yacht-pop of "Don't B Sad" was produced by TOPS, while Nite Jewel is featured on the angelically dreamy, arpeggiator-flecked "1 More Chance."
