'Real Life Trash Mag' (album stream)

As previously announced, Alexisonfire/Saint Alvia-spawned trio Say Yes are getting ready to release their first full-length, Real Life Trash Mag. But before the album hits stores on Friday (April 29) through Dine Alone Records, the whole thing is streaming here on Exclaim!

The follow-up to the group's 2014 debut EP was recorded live off-the-floor at Toronto's Vespa Studios with producer Eric Ratz (Big Wreck) and Billy Talent's Ian D'Sa. A press release had promised an 11-song collection of "no-holds-barred brand of riotous rock," inspired by the likes of Queens of the Stone Age and Quicksand.

We'd previously heard opening number "Once Forward Twice Back," but the record also features dirtied-up, singalong pop rock with "Dying to Make You Blind," crashed cymbals and melancholy harmonies for "Short-Handed Appeal," and fast-trilled licks for steady rockers like "Remorse Is in the Flames."

"Getting closer as a band and having a better idea of what we want to be, our sound is more unified this time around," guitarist/vocalist Adam Michael had previously said in a statement, adding, "These songs are more straightforward and easy to latch onto."

You can make that call for yourself by giving Real Life Trash Mag a listen down below. You can also pre-order a physical copy here.

The band will be playing Hamilton's Club Absinthe on May 6 and Kingston's the Mansion on June 3.
