After prepping soundscapes for cassette releases and online sources, Vancouver-based electro-acoustic composer Sarah Davachi has unveiled plans to issue her first proper full-length in 2015. Titled Barons Court, the drone LP arrives on vinyl and digitally February 17 through the Students of Decay label.
The release, her first since last spring's August Harp cassette, is described in a press release as "distinctive, patient and beautiful," flexing academically trained composer Davachi's "preternatural attunement to timbre, pacing and atmosphere."
While the five-song offering puts to use various vintage synthesizers — including Buchla's 200 and Music Easel models, an EMS Synthi and Sequential Circuit's Prophet 5 — Barons Court is also marked with the organic sounds of cello, flue, harmonium, oboe and viola.
Though previews from the platter have yet to be delivered, the pieces found on Barons Court are said to be in line with the textural minimalism of Éliane Radigue.
You'll find the tracklisting down below.
Barons Court:
1. Heliotrope
2. Guildford
3. Tiergarten
4. Wood Green
5. Ruislip
