Rustie Announces North American Tour Dates, Heads to Vancouver

Last year, Glasgow's Rustie stunned the electronic music scene with his eclectic debut album Glass Swords, which, as we previously explained, dabbled in "psychedelic electro guitars, early '90s rave, and clean cutting-edge pop music." Now the producer will take his varied tunes straight to the clubs on a quick six-city tour.

The bulk of the dates take place in North America, but Rustie will kick off the trip in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on May 12. His next stop is New York, but Rustie will make it into Canada once for a show at Vancouver's Electric Owl on May 19.

In other news, Rustie recently delivered a two-hour set for the BBC's Essential Mix series that blended in cuts from Hudson Mohawke, Kanye West and Drake, as well as some unreleased Rustie tracks.

If you were looking for more new Rustie tunes, the producer told Pitchfork that he's "been making sort of classical music, but I'll probably end up chopping it all up for club tracks."

According to Rustie, though, fans shouldn't expect a follow-up to Glass Swords for at least another year.

Tour dates:

5/12 Sao Paulo, Brazil - Sonar Sao Paulo

5/15 New York, NY - Santos Party House (Shortcuts Party)

5/18 Pyramid Lake, NV - Pyramid Eclipse Festival

5/19 Vancouver, BC - Electric Owl

5/20 Los Angeles, CA - Smog Sundays/Dim Mak Studios

5/22 Denver, CO - Cervantes
