Scottish producer Rustie recently delivered a pleasant surprise to fans with the sudden arrival of his latest album EVENIFUDONTBELIEVE. But admirers who were hoping to catch the electronic artist live at a string of upcoming shows will have to wait a while, as Rustie announced that he'll be stepping out of the spotlight for a bit.
Posting to Twitter on December 19, he explained that he was cancelling a number of future shows "due to addiction and mental health problems." He apologized, and also revealed that he would be taking a break from social media, noting that any upcoming posts would be coming from his management team.
Rustie was scheduled to play San Bernardino, CA, on New Year's Eve, followed by a slot on the Holy Ship! festival cruise in Miami.
The UK beatsmith was hospitalized earlier this year for complications related to diabetes. From his hospital bed, he recorded the track "160 Hospital Riddim," which you can relive in the player below.
