Run the Jewels have unveiled some rather ridiculous pre-order packages for their new album RTJ2, and this includes the "Meow the Jewels Album Package." With a price tag of $40,000, this package offers a re-recorded version of RTJ2 made entirely with cat sounds. Now, some fans have launched a Kickstarter campaign to make this a reality.
The campaign aims to raise $45,100 (which includes the $40,000 plus Kickstarter and Amazon fees). As of press time, it has raised more that $2,100, and it's got until October 28 to reach its goal.
But wait, it gets better: Run the Jewels member El-P tweeted a link to the campaign and promised that, if the financial goal is released, he will indeed remake RTJ2 using entirely cat sounds. He added that the money raised will go to charity.
Those who want to see Meow the Jewels become a reality must donate at least $10 in exchange for their digital copy of the album. If you're looking for a way to combine your love of hip-hop and Jingle Cats, it doesn't get any better than this.
RTJ2 drops on October 28. With any luck, Meow the Jewels will follow close behind.
