Over two decades on from releasing Amused to Death, English rock icon Roger Waters has begun hinting at a new solo offering that will arrive at some point this year.

In a teaser clip shared by Waters today (February 16), the former Pink Floyd member revealed the new album will be titled Is This the Life We Really Want? The clip is accompanied by an audio clip of slow, colourful piano chords and broadcast clips.

Waters told Rolling Stone last year that the record, which is being produced by celebrated Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, would be "part magic carpet ride, part political rant, part anguish."

A release date for the record has yet to be revealed, with the teaser clip mentioning it will be "coming soon." Waters might even road test some of the new material on his upcoming "Us + Them" tour of the United States and Canada.

While we await further details on Is This the Life We Really Want?, take in the short teaser in the player below.
