Rodriguez Returns to Canada on Summer Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 18, 2016

If you're searching concert listings for your next chance to see "Sugar Man" Sixto Rodriguez in concert, we've got some good news for you: the Detroit folk singer makes his way back to Canada by the end of the summer.

A series of Canadian concert dates were announced this morning (May 18). Following a handful of shows scattered across Europe, Rodriguez begins a small run of North American concerts at Vancouver's Orpheum Theatre on August 29. From there, he'll head to Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto before heading down south for a show in Chicago.

You'll find all of Rodriguez's currently confirmed North American tour dates down below, while his overseas show schedule can be found over here. As of press time, it's unclear if Rodriguez has more North American shows on the horizon, either in Canada or the U.S.

As previously reported, Rodriguez's music career went fairly unnoticed back in the late '60s and early '70s, but reissues of his Cold Fact and Coming from Reality through Light in the Attic at the end of the last decade helped build his cult following. Documentary Searching for Sugar Man from 2012 brought even more attention to the singer, who has been touring steadily ever since.
